Flex gives you the option to split your rent using a line of credit. Your Flex membership keeps that credit line open and available to use each month. This is what the $14.99 monthly membership fee goes toward.
If you no longer want to use Flex, you can cancel your membership directly in the app. This will close your line of credit and stop any future charges from Flex.
What Happens When You Cancel
Here’s exactly what happens when you cancel your Flex membership:
- Flex will no longer submit your rent. You’ll need to pay rent directly to your property
- The $14.99 membership fee will no longer be charged after cancellation
- If you still have a balance due when you cancel, Flex will collect it on your regular scheduled payment date
- Your credit line will be closed and appear as closed on your credit report
- You can still access the Flex app, but you’ll need to reapply (and be approved) if you want to use Flex again in the future
Should I Cancel or Just Turn Off Rent Autopay?
Only cancel your membership if you're sure you won’t be using Flex anymore. If you just want to skip using Flex for a little while but keep your membership active, you can turn off Rent Autopay instead. When Rent Autopay is off:
- You’re not automatically charged your 1st payment
- You can choose not to use Flex for that month
- Your credit line stays open for future use
- You’ll still pay the $14.99 monthly membership fee

How to Cancel Your Membership
You can cancel directly in the Flex app:
- Open the Flex app
- Go to the Settings tab
- Tap Membership under the General section
- Tap Cancel account
- A warning screen will appear, reminding you what cancellation entails Follow the on-screen steps to confirm your cancellation
Once your cancellation is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message in the app and receive an email confirming that your membership has been canceled.

Important Timing Note
To avoid being charged your next membership fee or having Flex submit your rent:
- Cancel at least 2 days before the end of the month
- Or, turn off Rent Autopay before that same deadline
