The Flex Referral Program lets eligible Flex customers earn rent credits for each friend or family member they refer to Flex.
If you share your referral link and that person signs up and successfully pays their rent bill using Flex, you’ll automatically receive a rent credit applied to your 2nd payment—typically in the month after your friend first uses Flex.
How does it work?
- Open the Flex app and share your referral link with someone you know.
- If they sign up using your link and pay rent with Flex, you’ll earn a rent credit.
- That credit will be applied to your 2nd payment the next month you use Flex, as long as your friend has already used Flex to pay their rent.
The amount of the rent credit may vary depending on the current Referral Program offer. You’ll see the amount you’re eligible to earn when you access your referral link in the Flex app.
Example: If your friend pays rent with Flex for the first time in July, and you use Flex in August, the credit will be applied to your August 2nd payment.
Who can participate?
Right now, the Referral Program is available to a select group of Flex customers as part of an early launch. If you're eligible, you’ll see the option in your app or receive an email letting you know.

Where can I find my referral link?
If you’re eligible to participate, you can find your referral link in the Flex app:
- From the home screen (look for a referral card)
- In the Settings menu, under “Refer a Friend”
Once there, you can:
- Copy your referral link
- Share it using your phone’s built-in tools
- Learn more about how the program works
What should I do if I don’t see my rent credit?
If someone you referred signed up using your link and paid their rent bill with Flex, your rent credit will be automatically applied to your 2nd payment—typically in the month after your friend uses Flex, as long as you also use Flex that month.
Still don’t see the credit? Double-check the following:
- Your friend used your unique referral link to sign up
- They used Flex to pay rent, not just to create an account
- You’ve made your 1st payment for that month (credits only apply to your 2nd payment)
If everything looks good and it’s been a full billing period since your friend paid rent, contact our support team—we’re happy to take a look!
How will I know if I received my rent credit?
Flex will send you a summary email around the middle of each month (for example, July 15) showing how many successful referrals you earned the month before.
You can also check your Flex app to see if a credit was applied:
- It will appear as a reduction in your 2nd payment amount
- You’ll see it listed in your Activity Feed
Other things to keep in mind
- You can earn multiple credits, up to $599 per calendar year
- Rent credits can’t be withdrawn or transferred
- Credits can’t be applied to your down payment
- Unused credits expire after 184 days
- Only the person who sends the referral (the referrer) is eligible to receive the reward
