If you’re asked to complete income verification while signing up for Flex, this article explains why it’s required, how to complete it, and what happens next.
Why income verification may be required
When you apply to use Flex, we review your application to determine eligibility. As part of that review, you may be asked to verify your income, and financial information
This verification helps us confirm whether you meet the requirements to move forward with your application.
How to complete income verification
If income verification is required during sign-up, you’ll see a prompt in the Flex app. You’ll need to complete income verification before we can finish reviewing your application.
To verify your income, you’ll:
- Enter your annual income
- Securely link your bank account through a trusted third-party provider (Plaid)
- Submit your information for review
We’ll review your recent deposit history as part of this process.
If you need help linking your bank account, see our Bank account linking guidelines article.
You’ll have 30 days to complete income verification from the time it’s requested. If you don’t submit the required information within that timeframe, your application will expire and won’t move forward.
For more information about next steps if you’re not approved, see What to do if you’re not approved.
What to expect after submission
After you submit your income information, Flex will review it and provide a decision within three business days. You’ll receive an update in the app and by email.
Once reviewed:
- If eligibility requirements are met, you’ll be able to start using Flex
- If eligibility requirements aren’t met, you may need to wait before reapplying
Important: While your application is under review, avoid restarting the sign-up process in the app. Restarting will cancel your existing application and erase your income verification submission.
