If rent autopay is turned off, your 1st monthly payment won’t automatically be charged. Instead, you’ll need to manually make that payment in the Flex app each month you want to use Flex Rent. Once your 1st payment is made, your rent will still be automatically submitted to your property like usual.
How the rent process works when autopay is off
When rent autopay is off, Flex won’t automatically charge your 1st payment. Instead, you’ll need to manually pay it in the app.
Here’s how it works:
- Your rent bill is posted by your property.
- Once Flex receives the bill, a “Make payment” button will appear in the app.
Before that, you won’t see the button—Flex is still waiting on your bill.
- When the button appears, tap “Make payment” to start your 1st payment. You must submit your 1st payment by the cutoff date listed in your app to use Flex for that month. If you don’t, Flex won’t submit your rent and you’ll need to pay your property directly.
- After your payment goes through, Flex will automatically submit your rent to your property.
