A service issue is a message Flex sends when we need your help to finish the rent process for the month. It means something is blocking us from submitting your rent, and you may need to take action in the Flex app to keep things moving.
New to service issues? Learn what they are and how they work.
What's happening?
The rent bill we received from your property is noticeably different from the monthly rent estimate you have on file with Flex — either higher or lower. Because the amount looks very different from what you told us to expect, we want to confirm with you before we submit a payment — we don't want to send the wrong amount to your property.
Once you confirm the right amount, we'll take it from there.
How to resolve it
Open the Flex app. You'll see a screen letting you know your rent needs to be confirmed — tap Continue.
You'll then see the rent amount your property posted. From here:
If the amount looks correct
Tap Yes, continue, review your payment breakdown, and tap Confirm and pay to complete.
If the amount is wrong
Tap Edit rent amount. What happens next depends on your property:
- If your property allows partial payments — enter the correct amount, tap Continue, review your payment breakdown, and tap Confirm and pay.
- If your property doesn't allow partial payments — you'll see a message letting you know you'll need to contact your property to correct the posted amount. Once they've updated it, open the Flex app again — you'll be prompted to confirm your rent amount.
What amount should I enter?
Enter the amount that matches what you actually owe your property this month — not your usual estimate.
Example: If your rent bill shows $1,050 this month, enter $1,050 — even if your usual rent is $1,000.
| Your situation | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Your bill is higher or lower than your usual rent | Enter the amount shown on your bill |
| You split rent with roommates | Enter just your share |
