How Flex payment fees work

Flex makes it easy to make your payments using a debit or credit card. Just a heads-up: bank transfers (ACH) aren’t a supported payment method at this time.

A small fee is applied each time you make a payment. This helps us continue improving the product and service experience.

All customers are charged a 1% bill payment fee, regardless of payment method.

• If you pay with a debit card, there is no card processing fee. 
• If you pay with a credit card, there’s an additional 2.5% card processing fee.

These fees are charged by Flex and apply to each payment. Rather than charging the full fee all at once, Flex spreads it across your two payments—so you’ll see part of the fee added to each payment amount.

For example, if your rent is $1,000:

• With a debit card, the total fee would be a $10 bill payment fee ($1,000 × 0.01, or 1% of $1,000).
• With a credit card, the total fee would be $35: a $10 bill payment fee ($1,000 × 0.01, or 1% of $1,000) and a $25 credit card processing fee ($1,000 × 0.025, or 2.5% of $1,000).

Where to view your payments

You can track both upcoming and completed payments directly in the Flex app:

• From the Home screen, you’ll see the current month’s payments—both settled and scheduled. Tap on any payment to view more details.
• For a full breakdown, go to Settings > Rent and payment schedule. 

Overdraft fee tip

It’s also important to check if your bank charges overdraft or insufficient funds fees, and how those might apply. To avoid being charged overdraft fees, we recommend turning overdraft protection off through your bank.
