How it works
Here’s how Flex works and what you need to know to keep everything running smoothly:
With Flex, you can pay your rent in two payments each month using a credit line issued by one of our banking partners:
- 1st payment: Due when your rent is due.
- 2nd payment: Due on the 15th of the month, or whenever you reschedule it by the end of the month.
Grace period and payment attempts
You have until the cutoff date listed in your app to add enough funds for your 1st payment. If the payment isn't ready by then, Flex won’t be able to be used, and your access to Flex could be put on hold. In that case, you’d need to pay your landlord directly.
But no worries! Flex will keep trying to process the payment until it succeeds or until the deadline listed in your app. You can also manually pay in the app before the deadline if you prefer.
How to reschedule your 1st payment
- Open the app and head to your home screen.
- Tap on your 1st payment, and you'll see the option to Reschedule.
- Choose a new date.
- Once you've selected your date, simply click Save.
Once confirmed, your payment date will be updated, and Flex will process your payment on the new date for that month.
Your monthly membership fee ($5.99) and 2nd payment will not be automatically adjusted when you reschedule your 1st payment.
Rent autopay settings
Autopay ON: Flex automatically attempts processing starting the last day of the month, with daily retries until success or the 3pm ET deadline on the 5th.
Autopay OFF: You must manually process your 1st payment by 3pm ET on the 5th.

Important reminder
If you need your rent paid by a specific date, make sure your 1st payment is available on time. Flex can only process your rent once the 1st payment is settled. For example, if your rent is due on the 3rd but your 1st payment isn’t processed until the 4th, Flex won’t be able to submit your rent until then. This is important if your property charges late fees. You’ll be responsible for any property-level fees if your payment isn’t processed in time.
