Note: This feature is still rolling out and may not be available to all customers yet.
If you’d like more control over when your 1st payment is processed, Flex allows eligible accounts to reschedule the 1st payment to a different date within the allowed window. This option is available only for customers who have Rent autopay enabled.
Rent autopay lets Flex automatically process your 1st payment, and rescheduling gives you the flexibility to choose when that automatic charge happens. Below you'll find everything you need to know about how rescheduling works, how it impacts your rent payment timeline, and how to check your Autopay settings.
How Flex Rent works (and why it matters when rescheduling)
With Flex, your rent is split into two payments each month:
- 1st payment: Due when your rent is due.
- 2nd payment: Due on the 15th, or on the date you choose if rescheduled.
- Membership fee: $14.99, charged automatically on the 15th.
Your 1st payment must be completed before Flex can pay your rent.
This is why choosing the right rescheduled date matters—your payment must still process in time for Flex to send your rent to your property.
How to Reschedule your 1st payment
If Rent autopay is enabled on your account, you can update your 1st payment date directly in the app:
- Open the Flex app and go to your Home screen.
- Tap your 1st payment.
- Select Reschedule.
- Choose a new eligible date.
- Tap Confirm.
Your 1st payment will be automatically charged on the new date for that month.
Rent autopay & rescheduling
You must have Rent autopay turned on to reschedule your 1st payment. If you don’t see a reschedule option, your account likely does not have Autopay enabled.
How to check your autopay setting
- Open the Flex app.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Tap Rent and payments.
- View whether Rent Autopay is toggled on or off.
Important reminder
Flex pays your rent only after your 1st payment has been processed.
For example: If your rent is due on the 3rd but your 1st payment doesn’t settle until the 4th, Flex won’t be able to send rent until the 4th. If your property charges late fees, you may be responsible if the payment is completed after their deadline.
