Applying for Flex to split your monthly bills takes just a few minutes. This article explains where you can apply, what you’ll need, and what to expect during the process.
Where to apply
You can apply through your service provider’s website. You’ll see the option appear when you’re paying your bill.
Note: If you're approved, we recommend using the Flex app to manage your payments and account settings. It’s the easiest way to manage everything in one place.
What you’ll need before you start
To make the process smooth, have these ready:
- A U.S. phone number
- Your full name and email address
- Your physical address
- Your Social Security Number (SSN) and Date of Birth (DOB)
- A debit or credit card to use as your payment method
What to expect during sign-up
Step 1: Create your account & verify your info
You’ll start by creating your Flex account using your phone number, name, and email. We’ll also ask you to confirm your home address to make sure it matches your service provider. If any of the pre-filled details don’t look right, you can update them before continuing.
Step 2: Confirm your bill
If your bill is already available, you’ll confirm the current balance and due date.
If your bill hasn’t been posted yet, you’ll be asked to confirm an estimated amount and due date so we can set up a plan for you.
Step 3: Check your eligibility
Flex runs a few simple checks to see if you’re eligible, including a soft credit check. This does not affect your credit score.
Step 4: Set up payments
Next, you’ll:
- Choose a date for your 2nd payment (we recommend about 15 days after your bill’s due date)
- Add a payment method
- Choose whether Flex should automatically split and pay your bill for you each month
Step 5: Finalize schedule
Review your payment schedule and details. If everything looks good, agree to the terms to complete sign-up.
Once finished, you’ll see a confirmation page prompting you to download the Flex app. That means you’re all set and ready to split your bill.
When will my bill be paid through Flex?
- If bill autopay is ON: Your bill will be paid through Flex on your upcoming due date.
- If bill autopay is OFF: Once your bill has been posted by your service provider, you’ll need to make a payment manually in the Flex app to kick off the bill payment process.
