Your financial situation can change over time, and your Flex Rent line of credit may update to reflect those changes. This helps make sure your line of credit continues to match your needs and financial history.
Your Flex Rent line of credit may increase or decrease based on things like your credit report and your Flex payment history. Some customers may also be able to request an increase themselves. More on that below.
How can I request an increase to my Flex Rent line of credit?
Some customers may be eligible to request an increase to their line of credit. If you're eligible, you'll see the option in the Flex app.
To request an increase to your Flex Rent line of credit:
- Open the Flex app and go to Settings > Adjust payment amounts.
- Under Schedule preview, tap Request more credit.
- Connect a bank account and save it. This lets Flex collect your scheduled rent payments from that account, the same way your payments work today.
All three steps are required to complete your request. If you skip or cancel at any point, nothing happens. Your current line of credit stays the same, and you can start over anytime.
What happens after you request an increase
We'll review your request and let you know one of two things:
- Approved: Your line of credit increases right away. You'll get an in-app message and an email confirming the increase. This increase doesn't apply to your payment split automatically. To use it, update your 2nd payment amount in Settings > Rent and payments.
- Not approved: Your line of credit stays exactly as it was. You'll get a notice explaining the decision.

Keeping your credit line active
Your line of credit generally stays active as long as you make your payments on time and your account remains in good standing.
If a payment is missed or there aren't enough funds to cover your balance, your line of credit may be suspended. Read more about suspended accounts.
