What Is Bank Verification?
When adding the Flex bank account as a new payment method in your rent portal, you may need to complete Bank Verification to ensure the account is valid, linked, and functioning correctly. This process is typically required only once when you first add the Flex bank account—not every month.
Verification methods vary depending on your rent portal. Some portals use micro-deposits (small, temporary amounts sent to the account) as a common method, while others may require you to enter specific details or codes provided by Flex. This guide offers an overview of how to verify the Flex bank account and navigate the verification process.
This verification process only needs to be completed once, when you first add the Flex bank account to your rent portal—not every month.
Steps to Verify a Flex Bank Account
Step 1: Add the Flex Bank Account

- Log in to your rent portal.
- Navigate to the “Payment Methods” section and add the Flex bank account details.
- You’ll be notified that a verification method (such as micro-deposits, a 3-digit code, or a letter code) will be sent to the Flex bank account for confirmation.
Step 2: Wait for the Verification Email

- Your rent portal will send the verification method (e.g., micro-deposits, a code, or a letter combination) to the Flex bank account.
- Since the Flex bank account belongs to Flex, the verification details are sent to us first. Once we receive them, we’ll forward the information to you via email. This process can take up to 3 business days from when you first try to add the Flex bank account to your rent portal.

Step 3: Enter the Verification Information
- After receiving the verification information from Flex via email:

- Log back into your rent portal.
- Navigate to the “Payment Methods” section.
- Enter the exact verification information provided by Flex.
- Once the information is entered correctly, the Flex bank account will be verified.

Step 4: Verification Complete!

- Once you’ve successfully completed the steps, the Flex bank account is verified and ready to use for rent payments.
What If I Can’t Wait?
If you prefer not to wait 1–3 days for Flex to email the verification information, you can switch to using a Flex debit card instead. Here's how:

- Open the Flex app and go to the Home screen.
- Tap the ❓ icon next to your current Flex payment method (the bank account).
- On the next screen, choose “Switch to Flex Debit Card.”
- Confirm the switch. Once confirmed, your Flex debit card will replace the bank account as your rent payment method, and you’ll see it listed on your Home screen
Things to keep in mind:
- Some rent portals may charge additional fees for debit card payments—check your portal’s terms before switching.
- Not all customers are eligible to switch payment methods. If you don’t see the option in your app, your account may not qualify.
- If you choose to use a debit card, don’t forget to complete the verification process for the Flex bank account once you receive the verification email. This will allow you to use the Flex bank account for future rent payments.
